The DataMiner™ is a certified FMComponent™ that brings powerful ad-hoc
query, reporting and 3D charting functionality to any existing FileMaker®
Pro solution. The DataMiner can be connected to an unlimited number
of FileMaker® Pro databases, and users can work with the DataMiner™ to
build, run and save complex queries, as well as create, save and display
an unlimited number of charts for any query.
Query results displayed in the DataMiner™ grid can be grouped, aggregate
calculations can be performed, records can be selected and edited, and
the DataMiner™ can locate, delete or update the related FileMaker records.
Data displayed on the grid can also be printed or dragged and dropped
into other applications such as Microsoft Word®, Excel®, Outlook® and many
others.
An unlimited number of charts can easily be constructed for any existing
query, including line, bar, pie, stacking bar and area charts. 2D and
3D charts are supported. Chart settings can be specified and saved with
the chart, including header, footer, X and Y-axis labeling, legend,
colors, grid, line, scale, and 3D angle. These settings can be saved
as a theme, allowing them to be applied to any future chart. Charts
can be printed and exported in a variety of formats, and live interaction
with the chart allows users to hide/show series, rotate X and Y-axis
labels, and access hundreds of other features.
One of the most exciting features of DataMiner™ v2 is its ability
to assemble groups of designed charts into an unlimited number of dashboards,
allowing all charts to be displayed together as a group, manipulated,
and refreshed at a preset interval. A default dashboard can be accessed
with a single click of the mouse, providing the user with valuable visual
insight to key business information.

The DataMiner uses the FMConnector to communicate with FileMaker Pro databases.

The FMConnector must be installed prior to running the DataMiner. The
FMConnector is licensed per user ($50 per user), and discounts are available.
This product must be customized and installed by a FileMaker developer.
The FileMaker Pro® Preferences file for the FMC-DataMiner™ must be mapped to
the appropriate databases and fields. This is a relatively simple procedure
for an individual familiar with FileMaker Pro® development.
The FMC-DataMiner™ runs on the client workstation and can access
data in any FileMaker database on the network being shared by Web Companion.
FileMaker Pro® 5.5+ is required on the client machine.
